Discovering your Poetic Voice through Sacred Geometry
In this workshop, six shapes in nature will be presented as inspiration for creative writing exercises that allow for a sense of wonder and harmony within. We will study the innate wisdom found in the spiral, the hexagon, the fractal, the circle and the cross. There will be a discussion of each shape, followed by a meditation and writing exercise. Instructions will be given on how each shape can speak through you by utilizing various creative writing tools such as imagery and sensory detail. Ideas will be presented from Angeles Arrien’s book, Signs of Life, The Five Universal Shapes and How to Use Them and David Wade’s The Cosmic Dance of Symmetry & Chaos in Nature, Art & Consciousness.
Facilitator - Terri Glass
Terri Glass is a poet, teacher and workshop facilitator. A former biologist, she is most interested in the blend of art and science for the development of human consciousness. She has coordinated the Poet in the School program in Marin for 10 years and teaches poetry workshops nationally in the fields of holistic education, health and healing. She is the author of a book of poetry, Unveiling the Mystical Light, an award winning poetry & music CD, The Body of the Living Future and Language of the Awakened Heart, a poetry guide for classroom teachers.
